1. Introduction
OzTheatrics (ABN: 816 328 523 89) is dedicated to producing high-quality performing arts education events and experiences for young people and educators interested in musical theatre. Our flagship initiatives include the Junior Theatre Festival Australia (JTF) and the Junior Theatre Celebration Melbourne (JTC).
In delivering these programs, OzTheatrics provides registration services, ticketing, and educational content through its websites, including oztheatrics.com and oztheatrics.intellibook.co (collectively, “the Site”).
By registering for or attending an OzTheatrics event, you (“you,” referring to both group leaders and individual participants) agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions. Please review them carefully before submitting your registration.
2. Scope of These Terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to:
Your registration for and attendance at any OzTheatrics event.
The conduct of participants, chaperones, and group leaders.
Entry and participation policies, including safety, behaviour, and media use.
The rights and responsibilities of participants and OzTheatrics regarding content and liability.
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Updates will apply to new registrations made after the change has been published on the Site.
3. Variation of Terms
OzTheatrics reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any revised terms become effective upon publication on the Site and apply to new registrations and tickets. You are advised to regularly check the Site for updates.
4. Additional Event-Specific Terms
Each event may be subject to additional terms and conditions disclosed at the time of registration or provided in your registration pack. These include, but are not limited to, performance guidelines, adjudication policies, and specific venue requirements.
Event-specific information such as registration fees, deadlines, and group size minimums are outlined on the relevant event registration platform and should be reviewed there before registering.
5. Refunds and Cancellations
All registration fees and individual participant fees are non-refundable.
Refunds will only be issued in the following limited circumstances:
If an event is cancelled, rescheduled, or significantly relocated by OzTheatrics and you are unable or unwilling to attend the rescheduled event.
If otherwise required by law, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
Refund requests must be submitted within a reasonable time and include proof of purchase. No other refunds or exchanges are available, including those related to changes in your personal circumstances.
OzTheatrics is not liable for costs incurred for travel, accommodation, or any other ancillary services. We recommend obtaining travel insurance to protect against such expenses.
6. Changes to Events
OzTheatrics reserves the right to:
Modify programs, venues, schedules, or artist line-ups.
Adjust audience capacities or performance timings.
Substitute or withdraw any advertised content or talent without prior notice.
We make every effort to communicate significant changes to group leaders promptly.
7. Entry to Events
Your admission to an OzTheatrics event is subject to compliance with these Terms and any specific entry conditions provided by the event venue or published on the Site.
OzTheatrics may refuse entry or remove individuals from an event for reasons including (but not limited to):
Breach of these Terms.
Intoxication or possession of illegal substances.
Inappropriate conduct or attire.
Behaviour disrupting others’ enjoyment or safety.
Event venues may require late arrivals to wait for an appropriate break before being seated. Entry may also be subject to security searches.
8. Wristband Policy
Only officially registered participants who receive an authorised event wristband are permitted entry into OzTheatrics events. Wristbands:
Must be worn at all times during the event.
Must not be tampered with, transferred, or resold.
Are not replaceable if lost, damaged, or defaced.
Are issued to one individual only and are not interchangeable among group members.
Misuse of wristbands, including attempts to transfer them to unregistered individuals, may result in the disqualification of the entire group from the event without refund.
OzTheatrics events are private and not open to general public ticket sales. The resale or transfer of wristbands is not permitted and may be subject to penalties under applicable ticketing legislation.
9. Registration and Sign-In Process
Upon arrival at your event venue, you will be required to complete a sign-in process. This includes:
Verification of participant lists.
Distribution of event materials (programs, shirts, wristbands).
Acknowledgment of policies and rules (including adjudication rules and participation expectations).
Please allow adequate time for this process and ensure group leaders are prepared with the necessary information.
10. Errors and Corrections
System Errors
While we take every precaution to ensure registration information is accurate and functioning properly, OzTheatrics is not responsible for errors caused by system faults or external circumstances. If a registration is affected by such an error, OzTheatrics may cancel or amend the registration and will attempt to contact affected individuals.
Customer Errors
If a registration error is made by a customer and requires reprocessing, OzTheatrics may charge any fees incurred during this process, including third-party transaction or chargeback fees.
11. Participant Conduct
All participants, group leaders, and chaperones are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and professionally throughout the event. This includes:
Treating all attendees, staff, and guests with courtesy.
Representing your group and community positively.
Following event guidelines, session timings, and venue instructions.
Maintaining a celebration-over-competition mindset—our events are not contests.
Group leaders must ensure student participants are well-behaved, punctual, and appropriately attired. Participants or groups displaying disrespectful behaviour—including offensive language, negative comments, or inappropriate approaches to celebrity guests—may be disqualified and asked to leave.
Intoxicated persons or those under the influence of illicit substances will be removed immediately.
12. Permission to Publish and Media Release
By registering, all participants (and their guardians, where applicable) grant OzTheatrics and its affiliates—such as Music Theatre International Australasia, Disney Theatricals, iTheatrics, Travel Gang, and Hal Leonard Australia—the right to:
Record, photograph, and film during events.
Use and publish participant images, audio, and video in any format, for promotional, commercial, archival, or educational purposes.
Participants waive any rights to compensation or further approval for the use of these materials.
Closed circuit television (CCTV) may also be in operation at venues for security purposes.
13. Payment Policy
All registration payments must be made through the official group payment portal on our registration platform (e.g. Intellibook). We do not accept payment via cash, cheque, or credit card directly.
Deadlines for payments are strictly enforced and vary by event. Additional administration fees may apply for late additions to a registered group. Please refer to the individual event registration platform for specific deadlines and payment schedules.
Late participant additions may be rejected if submitted after published cut-off dates, and under no circumstances can additional participants be added within seven (7) days of an event.
14. Group Sizes
Each OzTheatrics event has specific group size requirements and registration parameters. Please refer to the individual event registration platform for the most up-to-date group size minimums, maximums, and applicable registration structures.
Changes to these criteria may occur year to year due to program logistics or inflation.
15. Travel and Accommodation
OzTheatrics does not provide travel, accommodation, or meal arrangements for event attendees. It is the responsibility of each registered group to make their own logistical arrangements. We encourage groups to coordinate travel plans with sufficient flexibility in the event of unforeseen changes or disruptions.
16. Licensing of Shows
All groups presenting a performance at an OzTheatrics event must choose a show title from the MTI Broadway JR., KIDS, or One-Act Edition Collection.
Groups must obtain appropriate performance licenses from MTI Australasia. Licensing must be valid for the year before, during, or after the event in which the show is presented. Unlicensed shows will not be accepted for performance. Contact your MTI representative for licensing assistance.
17. Assumption of Risk and Liability
OzTheatrics is not liable for personal injury, property damage, or financial loss incurred as a result of attendance at its events unless required by law.
You attend OzTheatrics events at your own risk and are responsible for:
Your personal health and safety.
Ensuring adequate insurance (e.g. travel or medical).
Securing and supervising your personal belongings at all times.
Except where required by law, OzTheatrics is not liable for auxiliary costs including travel, accommodation, or other incidentals, even if the event is cancelled or modified.
